Accounts Assistant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a growing business. The successful candidate will handle a wide variety of accounting duties, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial administration while providing valuable support to the wider finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately verify, code, and process invoices

  • Prepare and issue cheque payments

  • Manage staff expenses efficiently

  • Maintain and update supplier account records

  • Reconcile supplier statements and company bank statements

  • Organise and maintain invoice and document filing systems

  • Manage petty cash and associated records

  • Perform precise data entry tasks

  • Act as the first point of contact for finance-related queries

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers

  • Review and improve existing systems and processes

  • Assist with general administrative duties including phone and mail handling

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • AAT Level 3 qualification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounts role
  • Strong bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in SAGE Accounts
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage workload to meet deadlines
  • A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach
  • Full UK Driving Licence
