Our client is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their finance team. This role will be based in Cobham and will be reporting to the Account Manager.

Due to continued growth, this highly successful client are expanding rapidly and as a result are seeking a new Accounts Assistant who is ambitious and detail orientated. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for numbers and a knack for problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Payroll & Accounts Assistant

  • Allocating invoices & ad hoc expenses directly onto management system software & Sage
  • Reconciling supplier accounts to statements
  • Processing and reconciling employee expenses.
  • Handling monthly company expense claims and credit card reconciliations
  • Process and prepare payment runs for supplier invoices, employee expenses on a regular basis
  • Addressing customer and supplier queries via email or phone.
  • Supporting the Finance team with ad-hoc administrative duties
  • Ensure that the debtor list is up-to-date, sending out monthly statements to customers and liaising with management on older debts.
  • To produce and develop reports, including: Weekly Aged Debtor and Creditor Ledger

 

Cash and Banking

  • Reconcile petty cash and credit card accounts
  • Enter daily banking
  • Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations across numerous bank accounts
  • Work with the Finance Department to continually improve processes and business performance;

 

Payroll

  • Collating timesheets and reviewing staff hours and basic weekly payroll
  • Processing Payroll journals and adjustments

 

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Having worked in a similar finance/administrative role would be advantageous
  • Ability to work well towards strict deadlines (month end)
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong teamwork both within the department and across the business
  • Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward
  • Car driver due to location
