A Day in the Life of a 2i Recruit Consultant

This week we thought we’d give you a little sneak peek into a day in the life of a 2i Recruit Consultant!

To start off with it’s worth mentioning that recruitment is an incredibly competitive job; we don’t get paid for a job until we deliver. So it’s very important that we deliver the right, quality candidates within tight timescales.

A day in the life of a 2i recruit consultant

8.15am

Arrive at the 2i Recruit office, download and look at all the CV’s that candidates have submitted on the ‘Register your CV’ page on our website overnight. We also reply to all our emails and leave messages for candidates and get them logged on our system.

9:00am

Wish our candidates who have job interviews later in the day good luck. It also gives our candidates the chance to ask any last minute questions and if they are nervous we can reassure them.

Every morning we have a team meeting in which our Branch Manager, Nikki, tells us what we need to do for the day. We are a really close knit team and work very closely together.

9:30am

Couple of hours working on a job role; searching job boards and our database for suitable candidates. Clients are often looking for a very specific set of skills in a candidate so it can take some time to find clients for our shortlist. Once we have the shortlist we will then contact each one and leave a message.

11:30

Spend around an hour on business management and our client accounts. Here at 2i Recruit we like to speak to each of our clients at least once a month. We really like to nurture our client relationships to give the very best customer service we can.

12:15

Quick sandwich and a walk around Godalming to stretch our legs!

A day in the life of a recruitment consultant

1:00pm

During the afternoon we take it in turns to visit new clients that have been recommended to us. We normally visit the client’s premisies to get a feel for the company’s culture. It’s so important that we get to really know the company and what they are about, so that we find candidates that are going to fit in and enjoy working there.

3:00pm

Arrive back at the office to gather feedback from candidates on how their interviews went during the day. We’ll also organise interviews for the next few days.

5:30pm

Now is the time when we’ll receive lots of calls from candidates as they finish work. We make sure we’re free at this time to concentrate on them and providing a great level of customer service for them.

6:00pm

Leave the office for the day, ready for tomorrow!
